Sourav Ganguly, the current president of the Board of
Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and a former captain of India, minimised
the importance of the Asia Cup match between Pakistan and India by suggesting

On August 28 in Dubai, Pakistan and India will face off
against each other in the opening match of the Asia Cup 2022.
"I consider it to be the Asia Cup. I cannot think of
another competition like India vs. Pakistan. When I was a player, the India vs.
Pakistan matchup was just another game. I always aimed to win the competition,
"told India Today, Ganguly.
The 50-year-old is optimistic about the performance of the
Indian team in the continental competition.
India is a good squad that has recently performed well, and
perhaps their team will deliver a good performance in the Asia Cup as well, he
said.
It is important to note that Pakistan defeated India by a
margin of 10 wickets in the 2017 ICC T20 World Cup in Dubai.
