Schedule and team for the Asia Cup 2022 competition: The
tournament's 15th iteration is set to begin on August 27 and conclude on
September 11.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the tournament's original date of September 2020 was moved to July 2020; however, it was again postponed until June 2021.
While Pakistan still had the hosting rights, the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) announced in October 2021 that Sri Lanka will host the competition in 2022, with Pakistan serving as host for the 2023 edition.
The competition was relocated to the United Arab Emirates and was hosted by Sri Lanka Cricket because of the current economic and political crises in SriLanka.
UAE, Kuwait, Singapore, and Hong Kong will compete in a qualifying round, and the victor will go to the main competition with India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh. The forthcoming Asia Cup 2022 will include participation from a total of 6 teams. One team each from Hong Kong, Kuwait, Singapore, and the UAE will qualify for the tournament even though five teams have already done so.
