Pakistan vs India Super-04: It's time for round 2 of the Asia Cup 2022, which is now taking place in the UAE. Last Sunday, the two teams made their respective debuts when India won by five wickets in what turned out to be a closely contested match. India defeated Pakistan and Hong Kong in two victories to advance to the Super Four stage. The fourth and final position was secured by Pakistan, who defeated Hong Kong by a record 155 runs. After winning the toss, Pakistan's captain Babar Azam decided to bat first against India. He made the decision to chase because he thought the dew would be important in the game's closing stages.
The aggressive batting of captain Rohit and Rahul helped
India get off to a great start. Each of them got off to a good start but fell
short of conversion. After accumulating 54 runs in five overs together, Rohit
and Rahul were both removed for 28 apiece. Suryakumar Yadav got off to a strong
start but lost easily on the third play after Pakistan retaliated after the
Powerplay attack.
India's leading scorer, Virat Kohli, hit a respectable 60
off 44 as they posted a difficult 181/7 in 20 Overs. At one point, following a
ferocious start from Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul, India appeared on track for
anything between 200 and 300 runs, but Pakistan fought back in the middle overs
thanks to their spin combo of Mohammad Nawaz and Shadab Khan to limit the
scoring rate. During his innings, Kohli hit four fours and a six. He was run
out in the last over, but not before Ravi Bishnoi hit back-to-back fours off
successive deliveries over point two
misfields in the end from Fakhar Zaman took India to 181/7.
In Chase of 182-Target, Earlier India dismissed Pakistan's
skipper Babar Azam and Fakhar before they could do too much damage, putting
Pakistan on the back foot for the majority of the first half of their chase.
However, a 73-run partnership between Mohammad Nawaz and Mohammad Rizwan in just
41 balls changed the outcome of the game, Rizwan (41) and Nawaz (41) were both
dismissed quickly one after the other by Hardik Pandya and Bhuvneshwar Kumar,
respectively. Bhuvneshwar let the game slide away from India when Pakistan
needed 26 runs off the final two overs, leaking 19 runs in the penultimate
over, After Arshdeep Singh dropped a dolly off of him, Asif Ali nearly brought
Pakistan home. Arshdeep, though, caught him with only two balls remaining, and
Pakistan still needed two runs to win. The next ball saw two runs scored by
Pakistan, who went on to win the match by five wickets.
Post Match Presentation:
Captain's Talk:
Rohit Sharma (IND): We are aware of the game's high stakes. You must put effort into it constantly. Such a game can demand a lot. Even when Rizwan and Nawaz partnered, we maintained our composure. They batted wonderfully, but that partnership certainly lasted too long. If they succeed, games like these can bring out the best in players. They can be made by playing these games. They've done it before. The opposing team includes a class as well. And we're not surprised with that. As far as we can tell, the pitch gets a little bit better in the second inning. We can learn a lot from it. It got a nice review in my opinion. We learned a lot today, including the kind of attitude we must have while defending against a score like that. You have to give Pakistan credit, as I already stated. They performed better than we did. The design is excellent (talking about Kohli). When the other batters were getting out, someone had to bat long. He also batted at that pace. Virat's achievement of that score was essential for the team. At that point, the wickedness of Hardik and Rishabh was not required. But we want to approach the game with an open mind. You may not always succeed using that strategy.
Babar Azam (PAK): We're trying to keep it straightforward. Ups and downs will always exist. Because of how they used the powerplay, they gained the advantage. However, our bowlers came back. The turning point was the cooperation between Rizwan and Nawaz. Nawaz would be crucial in battling legspinners, as I suspected (about his promotion).
Player Of the Match (Muhammad Nawaz): I'm trying to keep it simple. such fundamentals as line and length. The goal is to misfire one or two pitches in order to cast uncertainty on the batter. There were leg spinners in use, and there was also a short boundary. At that time, about 10 rpo were required. If it was in my region, I knew exactly what to do: I would go for it. When under pressure and aiming to push yourself to the limit, it's possible to lose shape.
