INJURY'S UPDATES:
Major
setback for Pakistan as Shaheen Afridi gets disqualified from the 2022 Asia Cup
and
the T20I Series against England because of a knee injury.
From August
27 to September 11, 2022, Dubai and Sharjah will host the ACC T20 Asia Cup.
The
22-year-old pacer was hurt during Pakistan's first Test match against Sri Lanka
in Galle, and as a result, he was unable to play in the series' second game as
well as the first two ODIs against the Netherlands.
Shaheen Shah
Afrid will reportedly, a Pakistani bowler, will not compete in the 2022 Asia
Cup. Following a ligament injury to his right knee, the medical staff has
advised him to take four to six weeks off. Shaheen will also be out from the
domestic series against England, but he is anticipated to make a comeback
before to the ICC Men's T20 World Cup in Australia and may be return during the
home series against New Zealand later this year.
The star
bowler will play at least one game in the current ODI series against the
Netherlands, according to Pakistan skipper Babar Azam, in an effort to get ready
for the Asian tournament.
Shaheen
expressed displeasure when PCB Chief Medical Officer Najeeb Ullah Soomro
informed the star pacer of his fitness update, which he shared with this
reporter here.
Along with Haris Rauf, Mohammad Wasim Jnr, Naseem Shah, and Shahnawaz Dahani, Shaheen Shah Afridi was a member of Pakistan's 15-man fast-bowling team for the Asia Cup. However, the Pakistan Cricket Board will soon announce Afridi's successor following his absence from the occasion (PCB).
