OVER VIEW:
INDIA vs AFGHANISTAN: Afghanistan skipper Mohammad Nabi won the toss and opted to field against India. Despite the reality that this match resulted in India's elimination from the competition, many Indians were happy. Virat Kohli finally scores a century, and he does so in a T20I match. The star player nearly destroyed the Afghan bowling lineup by scoring his first T20I century. The 33-year-old batsman helped India overcome Afghanistan by scoring 212/2 in 20 overs while being unbeaten on 122 runs off 61 balls. During his furious knock, the 33-year-old slammed 12 fours and 6 sixes. Along with Kohli, interim captain KL Rahul too made a significant 62 runs.
In the chase of massive total, As the Afghanistan batting
order was being dismantled, Bhuvneshwar Kumar simply ran amok with the ball and
scored a five-wicket haul. He took five wickets for just four runs in his four
overs, which made the laborious chase for Afghanistan very challenging. India
managed to achieve a crushing victory to close out the competition on a high
while other bowlers missed their chance to shine.
Post match Presentation Ceremony:
Captain's Talk:
Muhammad Nabi (AFG): The other night's game against Pakistan was quite difficult; it was a close one, and the following game is against India right away. We weren't psychologically ready for the match. Despite our best efforts, the lads' mental readiness was not sufficient. With the way Kl and Kohli started, we did our best today, but we also missed some catches and weren't prepared for as much swing when we batted.
KL Rahul (IND): After a serious injury and surgery, I've learned that it's not as simple as you may assume to play the last few games. I was thrilled to play, but it was clear that getting the same feel or rhythm wasn't as simple as I had anticipated. As a player, I am delighted that I was able to spend some time in the centre and that I began to feel good. In this style, hitting the first six off the middle gives you confidence. I believe that during the Hong Kong game, I received a free-hit and, despite timing it poorly, managed to hit the ball out of the ground and it felt wonderful, I felt a little better before the Pakistan game, and making a few shots gave me confidence. I am now gradually finding my groove. The outcome was unsatisfactory. In a perfect world, we would have liked to compete in the final. Although we entered this competition hoping to play in the championship game and take home the big prize, we chose to focus on the positives. It's time to take a step back and think on the challenges we've faced. We have the World Cup as our goal, so perhaps the lessons we learn will help us prepare for the World Cup, even if losing is never fun.
Player of the Match (Virat Kohli): First of all, I'm appreciative of how today's day went. I had a nice opportunity to take a step back and examine many aspects of myself during my time away from the game. Anushka is the one I specifically named since she supported me during these trying times and because she has witnessed my most vulnerable side over the course of these months. She was the one who helped me put things into perspective, constantly providing me with the proper kind of direction and a future vision, and I returned to the system as a calm individual. It was all about having fun, knowing the game, and using the gifts that God had given you, Since today was the build for the most recent games, I honestly batted out of my skin and surprised myself. My 60s turned into failures, which shocked me because I bat very well and contribute, but it doesn't seem to be enough. As I mentioned, God has given me with excellent things in the past, and that is why I am in this situation where these things may be spoken about. I can't really point anything out to anyone. I have no problem acknowledging that God is providing for all of us; we simply need to put in the effort. I therefore went back to the drawing board and returned inspired, The team environment has kept me well-communicated with, at ease, and with the proper perspective. When I returned, there wasn't much information waiting for me; they just stated "bat" and that I needed to enter the fun zone. People kept telling me I was doing this wrong and that wrong, so I chose all the films from my finest performance; they all showed the same initial movement and approach to the ball, and it was just what was going on inside my head that I couldn't describe to anyone.
